Joining our Freemasons Lodge in Surbiton, Surrey.
Find out how you can become a member of the worlds oldest Fraternity.
Freemasonry is the largest and oldest secular fraternal order in the world bringing men from all walks of life together. It is not concerned with religious or political views and neither can be discussed at meetings as those views are considered private and personal.
To join the Freemasons you must demonstrate certain qualities and values that we look for in each candidate.
What we look for in an applicant to join the Masons.
Every candidate must be able to commit some of their spare time to meetings which are held four times per year on the following days:
- The first Thursday of February
- The first Thursday of April
- The first Thursday of October
- The first Thursday of December
Times for each meeting are displayed on the Lodge summons but generally they are held late afternoon or early evening.
During the Masonic season members of the Lodge also attend Lodge of Instruction (LoI) where they learn about Freemasonry and rehearse for forthcoming meetings.
Each Freemason must be:
Over the age of 21 years
Have a belief in a Supreme Being
Be free of any criminal convictions
You get out of Masonry what you put in!
For those who wish to progress in the Lodge there are many opportunities to get more involved and steadily work through the various offices which add additional enjoyment as an active member of the Lodge. Outside of the Lodge we also enjoy social activities that include family gatherings, Ladies Nights and less formal events such as summer BBQ’s.
